Dr. Ofer earned his BS in biopsychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and his DVM from Western University of Health Sciences, also in California. He finished a 1-year small animal surgical, medical and emergency internship at a specialty practice in West Los Angeles. After that, Oren pursued a rigorous 4-year residency at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Ontario where he was able to fine-tune his diagnostic imaging skills. His current focuses are on ultrasound, interventional radiology, and adopting artificial intelligence for use in the diagnostic imaging field. Oren is also certified in veterinary medical acupuncture.
When Oren is not in clinics, he enjoys spending time in nature with his wife and toddler. They recently welcomed a spirited Border Collie puppy into the family who’s always up for a game of fetch and outdoor escapades.
Oren appreciates Vancouver Island’s bike-friendly environment and often embarks on outdoor expeditions with his toddler and dog together in a cargo bike. He has a particular fondness for micro-batch dark chocolate and has been known to make legendary homemade ice cream.
